What A Wonderful World It Would Be…

Sep 14th, 2008 | By Megan Edwards | Category: Random Thoughts, Writing Las Vegas, featured article

With all that’s been happening on the election front recently, I couldn’t help putting on my revisionist song lyric hat and coming up with… come on, sing along with Sarah…

Don’t know much about history
Don’t know much geography
Don’t believe those scientific geeks
Don’t want to know ā€˜bout all those homo freaks
But I do know that I’m prepared
I won’t blink, so if you’re feelin’ scared
Trust a hockey mom and vote for me.

Don’t know nothin’ but my talkin’ points
Don’t mind tellin’ you I smoked some joints
Don’t know much about the foreign war
Don’t know what a V. P. is for
But I do know how to shoot a moose
And to cook a state trooper’s goose
I’m a hockey mom! Yeah! Vote for me!

Now, I’m no old boy Washington insider–
But I’m tryin’ to be
I’m hopin’ my lipstick will help you not notice
Just how ā€œold boyā€ my views might be

Don’t know much about global news
Don’t share most librarians’ views
Don’t think foreigners should have a voice
Don’t think anyone should have a choice
But I do know that I’ve got a shot
At the Oval Office — whoa, that’s hot!
If McCain croaks — hey, there I’ll be!

  1. Operator Error: While removing spam, I removed some of the reader comments from this post by mistake. So apologies to Michael D., Dr. Laura Henkel, Lisa Marie Mercer — and the other favorable comments –

  2. Love it….My husband is working on new lyrics to another song. I’ll try to remember to share them when he’s done. We may as well laugh because it’s better than crying, right?
